A poem about missing your chance with a person that caught your eye.
THE WAITING GAME

She wore a white flower in her pitch-black hair
Instead of taking steps she seemed to tread thin air
Tanned skin complimented by ruby red lips
And a black and white dress neatly hugging her hips.

This is the girl that caught my attention
And held it forever without intervention
But where was the courage and fire in me?
I said not one word and that fact’s killing me.

Maybe I’ll see her again someday
When I least expect my breath taken away
I’ll send out spies and program satellites
Pinpoint her location to get her in my sights.

I’ll wait for the clocks to stop waving their hands
And the hourglasses each to run out of sand
Summon the strength just to say ‘Hi’
And hope for more words before we say ‘Goodbye’.
