A poem about the futility of striving for fame and riches to be happy.
HOLLYWOOD OR BUST

I want perfect skin
I want everything
I want a pampered life
I wann’a feel alive.

I want a model wife.

I want a fast car
I wann’a be a star
And now my head’s grown fat
Cos I’m a spoilt brat.

What d’you think about that?

If only this were true
I could say I’m better than you.
If only I could say
I’m better off that way.

But it’ll never come true
I’m in another world.

She wants a nose job
She needs a boob job
Face on a magazine
Living nice and clean.

In a diva’s dream.

She’s got a fake tan
And a plastic man
Expensively adorned
A star is born!

. . .in the latest porn.

If only she could see
She’s so ugly to me.
If only she would try
She wouldn’t have to cry.

But she’ll never realize
She’s in another world.

If only we’d realize
Glamour’s blinded every eye.
This world is so unreal
This is how I feel.

But we’ll never understand
We’re in another world.
