Life Lessons
Once through eyes of a child
The world appeared a wonderful place
Filled with popcorn, cotton candy, soda drink
There for the taking to fully enjoy.
Till through eyes of a teenager, I first saw "boys".
Now the world wore jeans and hung out at the park.
Loving it all, it stole my heart.
Hurts and pains took their toll on me.
And through wiser eyes I could now see.
I knew the pain of giving up
Of facing heartbreak when enough was enough.
Sitting and watching the world go by
Not feeling a part...while I heal inside.
