Paying Homage the God of Vanity,


This daily ritual is for thee,


I’m plucked, waxed, and moisturized, I’ve exercised,


Will I ever be beautiful in your eyes?


Will I look in the mirror and see beauty reflected in my own eyes?


Will your blessings wash over me like an ancient tide?


Will you grant me beauty through your inconceivable eyes?


Through my own stern gaze?
