This is a poem that describes a loss of love.
I vividly remember the drop in my stomach.
The lump in my throat and the slowing of my heart.
I can recall the air rushing out of my lungs.
My mouth went dry and my knees went weak.
I was dizzy and my chest was heavy.
I suddenly become cold and tears burn my lids.
There was so much that needed to be said.
But when I opened my mouth, nothing came out.
I listened to the beats of silence until my ears feel clogged.
I started to sweat.
I felt drained.
I closed my eyes.
Not a single coherent thought went through my mind.
I felt lost, I felt behind.
I wrapped my arms around myself.
As if that would keep me together.
I tried to remember the softness of your voice.
I couldn't see straight.
The pattern on my ceiling started to look like you.
And the light blinded me.
Burning my eyes so I could only see you.
