A picture and a thought
At the end of a dusty trail,
I pushed through swinging doors
and walked to the bar.

A cool beer after a ride far,
a smile offered so much more,
than just another strong ale.

I washed off dust in a pail
straitened bruised hat I wore,
and lit the end of a bent cigar.

The friendly bar girl, Star
looked up as I crossed the floor.
Lustful eyes dropped their veil.

"Want some company cowboy?"
With no attempt to be coy.
