A poem for my wonderful wife, Betty
I think,
      through the years it
may not seem true,
The extent with which
      I love you.

More than baseball, I love you.
    More than watermelon, I love you.
        More than fishing, I love you.
            More than my birddog, I love you.

I think even more than football,
        I love you.

I think
      I love you.





This modern love poem is to my wife, who has given me as nearly perfect forty-five football seasons of marriage as possible.

                      Keep the heart in tune
