22 short stories based on the tarot's major trumps.
I cannot conceivably post this anywhere without thanking the man whose brilliant mind caused it to take shape in the first place. The idea to write this collection can be wholly attributed to reading Neil Gaiman's Fifteen Painted Cards from a Vampire Tarot and thinking "hey, a story cycle based on the tarot is actually pretty neat". Of course, I am not Neil Gaiman, and these stories have very little to do with vampires, but the concept was born.

I dug up a small wooden case from a dusty old box of stuff and started playing with my own deck again. Each card has its own story, or stories, to tell, and it would be a shame not to write any of them down. The result was a creativity challenge, or perhaps a writing exercise if you will- take 22 themes and write a story about each of them. Thus far I have not managed to finish all 22 stories, but I've made a good start on it nonetheless.

These stories have found their way into the Seven Realms, becoming an essential part of the fictional world that keeps on expanding in my mind, and are as real and as true to it as the two larger projects I am working on. They are also the very first snippets of my own fantasy world to find their way online, and, uniquely, can be read entirely as stand-alone pieces.
