the truth about love
With love there is no wrong or right way,
Or so they say.
Things aren not simply black or white,
There is no such thing as a saving knight.

Love is based on appearance or a dozen red roses,
Despite what the movies tell us.
It was not your beautiful face or any gift that stole my heart,
It was your character alone that played that part.

With love the fall is easy, the climb steep,
At times it can feel you are in too deep.
But you have shown me love with no disguise,
You have opened my eyes.

For this I thank you,
Because I never knew
Just how special one person could be,
For you mean the very world to me.
