A short poem that shows my feelings about the destruction of nature.
The Sadness of Mother Earth

She gazed into the water,
Her reflection staring back,
Pale cheeks wet with frozen tears,
That fell creating ripples,
Shaking the waters with grief.

Father moon and stars above,
Watched the woman in pity,
Seeing the large tears that fell,
And whispered amongst themselves,
How could someone be so sad?

All she had created gone,
Everything she made destroyed,
And it was utterly her fault,
She only once turned her back,
Then all had shattered like glass.

Moonlight shone on the water,
Reflecting the sky that watched,
In sympathy the woman,
Who had lost all she had for,
Her love for life not returned.

The falling tears ceased at last,
Though they would not stop inside,
She slowly lifted her head,
Her hand reached for stars above,
And let loss overcome her.
