A childrens short story about colors that teaches the importances of sharing
All The Colors Of The World

Have you ever wondered what the world would be like without all of the wonderful colors we have in it?
What if suddenly we had no more red to color the apples, no more blue to color the sky, no green, brown or even purple to color the dinasaurs?
What if all of the colors were gone?, What do you think the world would look like?
Imagine if all of the colors in the world were gone except for just only one. What color do you think that it would be? Who do you think would get to pick that one color?
Close your eyes and imagine that everything around you in the whole world was the color purple. We would have a purple sky, purple trees, purple grass and even purple people. Every thing in the world would be the color purple. But, Oh No! What if you didn't like the color purple?
What if your favorite color was pink? There could be pink houses, pink streets with little pink cars, pink cats and dogs, even pink people. Everything in the entire world could be the color pink.
My best friend is a girl named Mary who has red hair, freckles, and even wears red fingernail polish. On Sundays she wears a bright red dress, with red socks and shoes. Mary has the only red bedroom in her parents red brick house. Even her favorite foods are red, apples and cherries.
Mary thought the color red was the best color in the whole world and everything should be red.
Mary has a couison that lives down the street in a blue house named Nicholas who has the biggest blue eyes that you have ever seen. Today he is wearing a bue shirt, pants, socks, and even a blue hat. Nicholas will only play with blue toys like his ball, cars, trucks, and building blocks.
Nicholas thought the color blue was the best color in the whole world and every thing should be blue.
Next door from Nicholas there is a big brown house with a boy named Danny that lives there. Danny has brown eyes, hair, skin, and loves to ride in his fathers brown car. Danny only wears brown clothes because he thinks brown is the best color in the world and everything should be brown.
At the end of the street there lives a girl named Lena who has a house painted completly white. She loves to ride her white bicycle in the winter time when everything is covered with white snow.
Lena thought the color white was the best color in the whole world and everything should be white.
The first day of school brought much excitment. All of the children came together in their classroom, looking at the other ones color and began to argue about what the best color in the world was.
Mary said it was red, Nicholas said it was blue, Danny said it was brown, and Lena said it was white. As the children argued over what the best color was their voices became louder and louder.
Red, Blue, Brown, White screamed each child still believing that their color was the best. Suddenly, over top all of the childrens yelling they heard a tiny noise coming from the corner of the room. The children grew completly silent as they began to look at each other confused. They heard the noise again, it was somebody crying. Who would be crying?, thought the children.
The children walked over to the corner of the room where the crying was coming from. In that corner sat the childrens new teacher with tears falling down her cheek and was very very sad.
Why are you crying the children asked? Looking up at them the teacher said I am crying because I don't have any colors at all. After that she began to cry harder and the tears began to fall faster.
The children all looked at each other, what could they do? They all wanted the new teacher to stop crying and be happy.
Just then Danny said why don't each of us give her some of our colors? So, Mary gave the teacher some of her red for her dress and shoes. Nicholas gave her some of his blue for her eyes. Danny gave her some of his brown for her hair and skin. Even Lena gave the teacher some white so her smile would be pretty.
When all the children seen how happy the teacher was with all her new colors, they all began to smile at each other. They had relized that by being friends and sharing their colors that tegether they could make the best color in the world.
