A testimony to the lies I have told and the forgiving of those lies by a friend
My Mask

The mask it covers who I truly am beneath.
The mask it hides my inner beauty
The mask
NO!
MY MASK IT IS!!

Behind it lies the eyes
of a kind man but they are not seen
through the eyes of a stranger.

I have hidden under
this mask of lies for way too
long now it's time to set myself free
time to take off my mask.

I look in the mirror and all
I see is the face of pain and misery
looking back at me.

I remove my mask today to
show the world who I really am
who I can be.
WHO I WANT TO BE!

I throw this mask into the flames
from whence it came and watch it burn
along with the lies that were told
and for the final time I look
into the eyes of a stranger as the fade to ash.

No more shall those eyes haunt
my mirror for now I see
the eyes I should embrace
my eyes my true eyes.

I laugh and I smile
as tears of joy
flow from my new eyes
and the ashes blow away
in the wind never to visit me ever again.

free.....free...............I AM FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
