Rebounding or trying to rebound from disappointments in life.
Crouching in the corner alone

Watching the world exist

Each decision sliding me further down

Residing there content, but full of holes

Attention creates a shift

Head turns upwards

Counting the tiles in the ceiling

Ignoring the calling of possibility

Lose the moment, forget the past

Toes itch to rise and step

Bright smiles beckon me

An attraction pulls to me

As the corner falls away

Thoughts prevail

Memories Flood

Darkness takes over

My arsenal is full

Words that bite

Send bright smiles away

Leaving with confusion

How could one so overflowing

Recoil at the sight of hope?

Rejection might not do me in

But hope surely would

Spouting from my mouth is bitterness

Eyeing the safety of my indention

I want to scream

Yes! I am ready

I want to try and hope again

As I look my feet are helpless

Caught in vines of betrayal

Soon my hands are immobile as well

Pulled hard against the tide of my desires

The heart hardly beating as it is

Is pierced by a barb of unknown answers

Re-soundly placed again

In my corner

Little beats steady and life resumes

I see the living

I see the past

I see my safety

Trapped but alive
