a plea to myself to start writing again
This is the last time you start writing again. Your brain can't afford another such lapse in creative activity. I'm unsure if you can recover from the previous self-induced cognitive coma you've been drooling in for the past decade, and two comas must be more effective than one by at least a factor of ten. Keep writing...through the hand cramps and mental blocks. Keep writing...through tired, bloodshot eyes. Keep writing...through the trite, mundane prose and ill-fated attempts at brilliance that fall before they learn to stand. Just...keep...writing! Do away with goals, successes and failures. Do away with mental laps meant to seduce yourself into a sense of accomplishment, completion or termination. Writing is THE journey that demands you ask nothing in return...expect NOTHING, write EVERYTHING!
