A poem about the fragility of innocence.
Whispering in my ear
Calling me softly
Come child, come here
Let me embrace you
Entranced by your eyes
Remove you disguise
And make nude your flaws
Forget these lies
Blow them away
Like a candle's flame
Transparent and dangerous
Yet vulnerable to you who is sure
The sun kisses you
The moon knows your secrets
The clouds are your weakness
The stars are your map
The trees know your past
And the rain washes your tears away
With rain comes clouds to make you weak
The sun can't kiss you, the stars cannot guide you
Your secrets are hidden
And the trees know your past
So make new mistakes
Plunge into the red lake
And drink the blood
of the souls you've unknowingly torn
You're a parasite,
A vampire
Seeking the nectar of suffering
So as to mask your own
You bleed internally
Eternally
Your demons drink you
And you drink the angels
And steal their innocence
Burn it like incense
And let the fumes wipe your troubles away
Come child,
And play with the fire
Your innocence is flammable
Your sorrow is not
Your pain will stay strong
Your love will rot
Until you are a puff of smoke
Dark and weak
Toxic and lovely
Rising to meet the sky
And then disappearing
As if you never existed
