This is a work in progress. It is written purely for pleasure.
I have been fascinated for a long time by films and books which deal with the end of the world. Although I believe that the horror of being on one's own permanently would be, in the end, too much, I still have times when I imagine what it would be like to wake up and find everyone gone, and the fun of being able to choose a home to stay in. To have the pick of a car or anything you wanted, just for a while, just to ward off the knowledge that no one will be coming to save you. My character is, I guess, me, in the safety of my own mind, so although James suffers in places, he does keep up the pretence of being sane and rational. He has help, of course, from Spider, who had to make an appearance, after the beautiful acting(!) of the Alsatian in "I am Legend". I admit that bits of this novel (in the story line) may remind people of "I am Legend", only because I loved both the book and the film. Currently, though, there are no plans for Spider to suffer any horrible fate. In fact, there are no plans to finish this, mainly because although I know what I want to happen in the future, I need an answer to a question - would various monkeys band together or would the need for territory be too strong? I would like to finish it though, I think it's going to be one of those "Right, let's sit down and end it" or something which drags on for years.
