Quatrain - Written in April 2009
Deep in the darkness of night
There's something to that gives you a fright
And yet if you are still you will learn
Everything is actually quite alright

Into the dark garden you turn
You can smell eucalyptus on the burn
Unknown to you, something watches you from the clear
Your skin is what they yearn

You listen to your surronds with a hand to your ear
No sounds not even a sneer
Yet your skin prickles with anticipation
This feel to you very queer

Eyes unable to resist temptation
Lips yearning for their quick hydration
Unable to move you watch the darkness
Knows there is going to be some desecration

The silence lingers increasing loneliness
You fidget due to restlessness
Something sharp brushes your neck
Deep sensation of wickedness

Sharpness touches down like a lover's peck
You're afraid to turn your head to check
Arms wrap gently around your waist
Draining the tiredness from your trek

Calmly you get yourself braced
To find out what it is that you have faced
Teeth pull out and it moves around
Facing you with it's fingers on your lips to taste

No one lives long in this town
Yet everything is well kept including the ground
Something watches for new food to bite
So don't come alone or you'll drown
