A vacation cruise was interupted by strong winds and rain. The passengers were alerted.
Walking hand in hand on the third floor deck, nothing seemed more romantic than the Wedding Cruise their family gave to them as a gift.

Merry was such a lovely bride, eighteen, just out of phase one nursing school. Gerry, who planned to be surgeon walked proudly beside her. She was so beautiful, he thought. Much too good for me.

"Gerry, it's getting chilly out here, we better go back to our cabin." Merry threw her shawl around her shoulders,  and picked up there walking pace considerably.

"I haven't heard anything about a storm, but it sure feels like somethings coming on." Gerry put his arm in Merrys and guided her to the first door available. It was the dining area and it was empty.

"I wish we could get a coffee," Merry looked around to see if anyone was in the large room who could help her. "It's totally empty and only eight o'clock. Wonder where everyone is."

Searching the entire deck was pointless, no one was around. The ship felt deserted. They called out "Anyone here?" "Where is everyone?" No response.

They gave up and went to their cabin, tomorrow things will be normal, forget this weirdness and go to sleep.

The next morning, the ship was close to land. It looked like an island. There were many palm trees but no structures visible. Then they saw them, about four or five small boats, maybe canoes, hard to say from the distance. The boats were empty.

"Gerry, something very serious happened yesterday.

I don't know how we escaped it, but I think we are the only two people left around here."

The ship began to lean to the right. It was in the slow process of sinking.

"We'll have to head over to land Merry, we have no choice."

They worked their way  down to water level and jumped in.

Both swam to shore. Merry was walking toward to trees,

"I can't believe this place is practically barren." She turned to Gerry. He wasn't there.

"Gerry....Gerry, where are you, no kidding."

She stood on the sand alone and felt her feet disappearing.
