A friend and I had a conversation that led to this. Tell me what you think.
Tick tock and the clock goes click.
Another moment of life has passed
Feeling's relative to mortality's rate.
And nothing is built to last.

How can you feel what you've been told you know?
How can you know what you feel?
How can you tell someone there truth is a lie?
How can you tell them what's real?

The gears have stopped grinding
A euthanized state
You'll be punished for intellect, punished for new,
A mountain of drugs on your plate.

Write dreams in a journal, we'll tell you they're lies.
Send you offf with a pill for each truth.
You'll never know the potential you had,
Because of your chemical youth.

Tick tock and the clock goes click.
But this moment it seems to stay still.
Altered reality can mean something new-
But the world stay the same and I'm ill.

blue suits in swivel chairs, they whisper with money.
Spoonfed by the best textbook fakes.
And at the ripe old age of just barely eighteen,
We'll hand you a gun and your fate.

Ideaology like venom, it's sucked from our heads.
While whispered our thoughts by our ears.
Invent reason to create ruin, it's a beautiful lie,
And inject into the holes all our fears.

There's power in nmumbers in a nation divided.
And we're only as smart as we think.
And don't think you can win, don't try to escape it.
You'll lose yourself in red tape and black ink.
