He is back for her. Will she accept him, or will she reject his request?
She looks ahead and her beautiful eyes grow wide as unshed tears threaten to fall from tierd grey orbs.
She shuts her eyelids quickly and tightly, to prevent herself from weeping, but her actions become useless as hot, salty tears roll down her slender face.
She mentally curses herself for being weak, for once again crying after so many years, for being human and made of flesh, instead of ice or stone.
Her heart, that for so long had been cold and unfeeling melted; the thick, impenetrable walls she carefully built around her remaining emotions hopelessly crumbled down, and she desperately fights the change, for she cannot bear yet another heartbreak.
Opening her eyes, she hysterically tries to regain composure, to draw air back into her lifeless lungs, to stop herself from making the same mistake once again.
Her petite, frail body shakes violently of its own will, and her thin, pale hands cover her bewitching, blood drained lips to suppress a whimper.
Her heart is racing, her mind trying to form coherent thoughts, her senses trying to warn her of the danger.
Standing there, right before of her is the source of her problems:
It has obsidian, unwavering silky hair and a pair of intense, onyx orbs to match.
Thin lips and sharp edges form its handsome, emotionless, pale face.
A tall, well-built body with defined muscles form it's equally pale body, defined muscles form its equally pale body, which is adorned by multiple scars acquired as time passed before their eyes.
Its chest, strong and warm, carries a dull, toneless heart which is impossibly stubborn and strong, surrounded by undying barricades that shield its emotions and feelings from the rest of the world.
Standing there in front of her is the man who shattered her heart into countless pieces, who saved her life multiple times, who emotionally stabbed her on incalculable occasions.
Standing there is the angel that watched over her at midnight, the demon that haunted her dreams, the first man she ever loved, the one that robbed her heart.
He was there, standing before her, watching her eyes carefully, and intensely gazing at her full, scarlet lips.
-"What do you want?" she asks, her voice trembling in fear. "what do you want with me?"
He sighs, and silently closes his eyes, slowly taking a deep breath and fiddling with his fingers.
-"I'm sorry for all the pain I've caused you"- he answers, his voice hoarse and deep.
Her gray eyes widen, and her lips part in surprise, as her body stiffens and shakes altogether. He is not the kind to apologize; his pride doesn't allow him to.
Watching her reaction closely, he delicately proceeds with his confession.
-"I've always wanted you, but never had the courage to say so. I really regret all the times i rejected you, and i desperately want to make it up to you"-
His serene eyes soften and his slender lips twist themselves into a sweet smile, revealing perfectly white, immaculate teeth.
-"please, marry me"- he finishes, enveloping her cold, delicate hands in his strong, warm ones.
She violently shakes her head as tears fall and stain the pearly sheets
-"I'm sorry, but you had your chance before"- she mumbles, and his dark eyes widen as the grip on her hands tighten.
-"you never cared, why do you suddenly come up and ask this of me? I'm not going to be your baby-making machine!"- she exclaims, yanking her hands from his grip, making him stiffen.
-"please, leave"- she begs, and he slowly gets up, walking towards the open window.
-"are you sure?"- he once again asks, and she nods, despite the bitterness in his voice. His eyes, small and cold, reflecting indescribable pain and sadness.
She watches him disappear through the night, and inhales deeply, her hands grazing the chilly window frame as her obsidian hair dances with the wintry wind.
-"forgive me"- she says into the cold, melancholic night and affectionately caresses her belly, closing her eyes, and shedding her last tears. "but I've already given away what's left of me"
