...wake up from a dream and take a long long sigh...
I had this dream
where I saw her,
beneath a silk laden veil
covered in blood, madly thrashing.
Wearing a smile which faded ever so slightly
like a screaming disaster.

It was as though
I somehow belonged there,
beneath a wind torn blanket.
The warmth seeping out, as would a parasite
in your broken body. And I saw her
but I was already heading home.

Then the dream ends,
someone's calling,
dinner's on the table.
Growing colder, but that's alright;
my mouth is burning from this fire, although in order,
it's a cold calculation.

So I took a walk,
blindly hoping
to see her standing there.
Swaying in the tall grass out by the corn field,
wishing on a wild rose.
Delivering my vaccination.
