Reflections of one who does not yet understand.

There was once a child who longed to be a man. That child grew up to be a strong and healthy man which lived and experienced many things. Painful experiences, fun-filled experiences, tearful experiences, meaningful experiences, but throughout all these experiences he has now encountered a new longing. A longing which, had he encountered while younger would have perplexed him. For now this grown man, full of life's experiences, longs to be a child once again. A being totally devoid of physical and emotional scars. One who sees no evil in things nor understand it. One who believes in magic and is always full of hope and energy. One who is not weighed down by the trials and tribulations of life. One who does not know how to hate for he does not know how to love. One that believes in the innocence of the world and the goodness of nature. One who has yet to be ravaged by the forces of nature and relish in its pleasures. One not yet shaped by his environment. One who looks into the future with hope and optimism. One who has not yet learned to long for the past. One whose heart is yet to learn the ways of the Sword. One who only dreams of himself as the hero of many and has yet to experience the nightmares of life. One who knows no sorrow nor happiness. One who looks at the world through astonished and smiling eyes. One who has yet to set his face into a frown of displeasure. One who has yet to take any action and affected no one so far. One who inspires hope and happiness in the hearts o his parents. One who is yet to taste the bitter fruit of failure, and sweetness of success. One who has yet to be assailed by the calamities of life. One who is whole and complete. One who is not yet empty inside. One who does not know how fortunate it is to be young and complete. One who will perhaps turn out better than he did. For perhaps the root of his longing is his dissatisfaction of himself. Or perhaps he only seeks to once again be complete without the ever-present void that resides within him.
