a character named paul which draws a picture of a person we all know
he wasent looking to be anything special. it was a sense that he knewn he could never have enough drive to forfill a dream so dont even bother having them. his dream lay in a small tin filled with tobacco, papers and drugs and in isles of video shops. chilling out was his game. his only friend who had a girlfriend was a boy name sam. sicko sam, because he always had stains on his clothes, even if they freshly washed. as if the stains were drawn to him and he were powerless to keep them away. fucking sam ay? he was a character. a much bigger character than paul. paul drove a small fiat panda and lived in a small two bedroom flat with his ex girlfriend shelly. shelly was south africian and they had moved in together a couple of years back when they were an item. they split up but it was financially better for her to stay and keep contributing with the rent. paul loved his films and his quite time and didnt really care for socialising. it didnt bother him either way to drink, he was more interested in getting home and relaxing. paul wasent into video games, he saw no real challenge. he much prefered the antics of real people. people he could watch and follow in the media. he had a guilty pleasure for gossip magazines and would read them when he got in from work while he ate. not that shelly knew, she was never in when he got home from work, she had a long commute and they hardly ever crossed paths. paul was ambitionless and had no problems with it. he never felt useless or under appreciated. never strived for a better job or better life. he was happy. you could say ignorance was bliss but there was no ignorance where paul was concerned. only pure unadulterated happyness r a life he could live and maintain. he had arrived, but had never actually made the journey. when his father died from lung cancer he saw it is a twist in the road of life. didnt get over emotional or beg for sympathy.
paul was paul. and thats all that paul was
