mother and I
I live with an angel,
She protects me
She supports me
And teaches me

I’ll always be here for you,
She says,

I’ll always back you up,
She whispers,

But there’s a request
A condition for this comfort
That is for me to
Be strong, happy and proud

A day will come I leave,
now pay attention and listen,
she commands,

little girl,
gender is no excuse.
Women are as strong as men
Men as intelligent as women

Have no gender
Be both man and women
Be fierce yet tender
Courageous yet cautious

Like a man do not sway,
stand up right away,
Run up to challenges

Like a woman be caring
Tender to the weak,
Use your brain before strength,
Taught she.

The little girl became a young adult
When I fall,
When something disappoints me
I think
Be strong
One day I’ll become like mother
On the day I get to hold a daughter of my own
I will unfold with my own hands
the guidance which my mother had bestowed to me
