This is a shakespearean sonnet inspired and written as such, but with a humorous title
Brethren before wenches

Two men whose friendship seemed to know no bounds,
Believing above all that it was strong,
Once found their faithfulness to be unsound
When entered maiden fair to prove them wrong.

The problem spawned because they were too proud
And each his own great deeds would oft repeat
Each trying to prove himself more endowed.
The girl attempted to dispel the heat.

Foul tempers flared and thus began the brawl.
Knives drawn, teeth flashed, teeth gritted, and then rest.
Oh shame! To cover such a crime needs a pall,
Beneath which she lies treasure in a chest.

And thus they, broken from their anger’s trance,
lament this deed which sorrow ne’er recants.
