I wish now you didn't sleep
I wish now you didn't sleep.
We had one night three years ago
Down on the dock where eyes watched all,
We held hands, tried not to fall
Asleep, as if that could stop time's flow.
Of course it didn't work, we broke,
You waved goodbye on the back of a bus
That was the last time we were us.
It broke into me and you and never reawoke.
I wish now I did not sleep.
