My first experience of the bath tub

When I landed in this country known as the land of opportunities,it was a very special day for me.I was going to meet and be with my husband after months of separation due to some family emergency.The long journey to America took its toll on me and I was literally dazed. The place was not registering in my mind. I was just aware that my husband was with me and that was all that mattered.

However, one thing did register in the tired brain of mine - THE BATH TUB. Now, before I go ahead and describe my experience, let me give you some insight into a middle class life style in my country. The bathroom comprises of a shower, wash basin and other basic things. Bathtub is a luxury which every middle class family do not have as yet. After arriving here, I saw that the bathroom has both a shower and a bathtub. And more precisely for a smooth bath, you need to step every time into the tub even though you intend to have only a shower, and not soak yourself in the tub. Now that is because the water outlet is only through the tub! Many of you might be thinking, big deal! so what? Well you see some people who have always had or experienced things will understandably find it difficult to see the uniqueness or experience the fun in it. As for me, it’s been a nice and a different experience. I see the bathtub as the dominant factor.
Of course the bathtub is not forcing us to have a bath only in its tub. It’s up to us, more so when we have a hand shower. But think about the flooding of the bathroom floor and all the cleaning and drying needed to be done after that! We will need to go back to our sweet old tub. So, I say - enjoy bathing in the tub.
Before the bathing equation for me was:

Water + soap-----------> à clean body

Now it is:

Water + soap-----------> à clean body; BUT ONLY IN A BATH TUB!!! :)

The bathtub is now an integral part of my bath life. Thanks tubby.
