The joy of intimacy, whether it lasts a night or a lifetime.
Layer after layer
it all comes off.
Protection is gone
now vulnerable and soft.

No barriers.
No pretense.
No ego to cloud.

Only soft and tender emotion,
and not one ounce of 'proud'.

Who is to say it will last,
longer than one night.

All we need right now,
is the hope that it might.
