I created this while sitting in an exam room after completing my paper with time to spare.
On a piece of crumpled paper,
She draws.
Bamboo shoots rising out of white
Forest floors.
Her life in that moment
Is black and white
And shades of grey.
Her life is in those shoots
Tall, slender and bowing in the breeze.
They represent a side of her
That is free and young
Young, but wise
For as a bamboo grows,
The more it learns
And it forever is one with nature.
The creation flows through its hollow trunks,
Feeding it with energy.
Can you feel the oneness of life
As you gaze upon their magnificence?
Do you feel their beauty?
Are you wrapped in wonder
As you sketch branches and leaves
That sing melodies in the wind
And whisper mysteries at night?
Look upon them and remember
That they are just an example
Of the greatness and beauty of this
Everlasting energy (and creation).
