A hard emotionally fueled crash back to reality
Stars, the only thing that could pull me in so closely and keep my attention for so long. Sometimes I really wonder why we look up at the stars. What function do they serve other than adding another lighted fullstop to the night sky? After all that thinking I figure it out. The sky like a mirror offers reflection, not of the physical nature but of everything else. Mental, spiritual and all other aspects of oneself is revealed. Therefore its mystery unfolds. I gaze into the stars hoping to see you in my heart, but there's nothing more than just a busted lighter and a dried up cigarette butt. Not even the scent of old scotch was there anymore. You had gone far away and not even the stars could have brought you back.
