The rain fell with the intention of forgiving
The rain fell with the intention of forgiving.
Isolated leaves in the streaming valleys floated downwards,
tumbling through the water like broken puppets.
Autumn had cut their strings with its jagged winds,
causing them to crumple and rot;
tragedy occurring in the touch of a breath.
His footsteps echoed through the water,
shattering the surface with the splintered light,
cracking the reflection of the stars.
With a sigh, he watched as the raindrops struck his boots,
falling with the others to create nature's tears.
Each step brought him closer to the satisfaction of knowing,
and although his pace never faltered,
the sweet pulse heightened its beat;
pushing his thoughts towards the crack in the skin.
