A poem on a cross stitch i did.
Colours,
red, green, ginger........
seven feline creatures.
One a kitten,
hangs in the tree
grey in colour,
black eyes.

Another asleep
ginger and sand
unaware of the surroundings.

The cat next to it
sits straight and tall
chocolate, orange and sand
tail down, green eyes.

Another cat beige in colour
plays with a butterfly.

Little crosses
make a coloured picture
of cats.

Stitch by stitch
a picture appears

The beige shape of a cat
The red shape of flowers

The black backstitching
that changes
ginger,orange
and chocolate
into a kitten.

There is the grey kitten
clinging to a tree
for dear life.

Bright christmas red, and deep red
formed five flowers.

Why?
why do cross stitches?
It's relaxing
the fabric comes to life
with a coloured picture.

Finished, what next?
Three cats stare back

Place of pride on
the wall with the rest?
No.
It's to give a friend
an 18th birthday present.
She likes cats,
I hope she likes mine.
