A Poem About the day the sun decided to sleep
On that faithful day
Not long ago
The sun decided to stay
Behind’s the night’s cloak

No dew made crisp
The lawns of the awaking
No paper was written
For those to read

The wind never sang
Her beautiful song
Her lovely caress
Would not be known

The creatures of the night
Continued to stir
And wreak havoc
On those who slumber

Yet, there I sat
The only one awake
My voice couldn't be heard
My tears hidden

I saw the Earth's pain
As the creatures wreaked
All I could do was watch
As her heart sank

I looked to the stars
The only light left
Pictures of a past
Before the sun slept
