a freewrite on how I longed to write but can't... and yet...
One day, I woke up from an abnormal sleep.  There is such a thing.  I work in a call center as a reports analyst here in the Philippines.  My time follows the Mountain Standard Time since the corporate headquarters is located in Denver, CO.  For five years now, I've been working at nights and sleep in the morning.  That is abnormal.  When everyone is asleep or having a good time at a bar or at the movies, I'm working at my desk.
After taking my "breakfast" (which is equivalent to your dinner), I checked my emails.  Notices from Facebook... "So and So has confirmed you as a friend...", "This Person has commented on your status..."  After deleting all of them, only one or two are the real mails.  One of them came from you:  "You've not been visiting the site..." which reads "you're not writing."
Arrgh!!!! Can I say, "I don't have the time to write?"  And I hear your answers will range from: "Yes you can, but no you may not!", "If others can, why can't you?", "If there's a will, there's a way." and whatever quotable quotes you have in store.
So I pushed myself to find ways to write.  I bought a journal made from recycled paper (green is in, you know), a copy of Diary of a Wimpy Kid (Do It Yourself Book), sketch pad, pencils and pens.  I tried writing like I used to years ago (before working in a BPO company) --- freewrite by the time I wake up and everytime I have a break.  I even write while eating at McDonald's.
And while cleaning up the room, I unearthed an unfinished manuscript written in Filipino.  It's a suspense, mystery thriller about broadcast journalists.  I started writing that back in 2002... Oh, my God!!!! That's eight long years.  Thoughts have been debating inside my head whether I'll re-write it in Filipino or in English.  I decided to finish the story in Filipino then translate it later.
No more reasons not to write.  I can write while taking a bite of Super Supreme at Pizza Hut.  I don't care being seen, in fact, that's a good opportunity for me to observe people on how they talk and what they talk about these days.
It's 6:00 and I'm invited to a birthday party.  I'm going because high school classmates and friends will be there.  Tomorrow, I may write their stories in my journal.  Some of the details will become a plot or character or event in a future story.
    And the list goes on.
