wow, this took some time!
(PLZ REVIEW! even if it like 2 lines thanks :D )

At first there was just black.
Black.
Black.
More black.
This world was just... black.
Was this what he had meant? That I belonged to the darkness, that I should hide in the shadows?
That I should consume black? Eat it, drink it, live it? Dream black dreams?
And I thought London was grey enough.
But then, to my huge relief, the fog started to clear, and the mist drew apart, like crimson stage curtains.
No more black. But a world of brilliant, pure light, pouring in from all directions.
And then I heard a voice.
Voices.

"Hello, Eve, “murmured a voice from behind me.
I sighed. "Hey, Jasper."
"Are you okay?" He asked, studying my face for a few moments. He sighed and sat down beside me. We were both silent for a few minutes.
"You seem upset, “he said quietly.
"Yeah," I agreed. It was all I could say.
He narrowed his eyes slightly in confusion then followed my gaze. His tawny eyes widened as they took in stretches of golden wheat and grass, swaying simultaneously in the same brief motions. They took in the peaceful little girl that stood beside the great instrument, smiling as her friend's fingers moved swiftly against the keys, causing the music to escape off his fingers and echo off the canopy of trees that surrounded them. The sun broke through the clouds, lighting up the whole scene completely. I watched on in amazement and as the lullaby of a song was nearly over; he looked up and smiled at her, his ocher eyes twinkling. Her answering smile was dazzling. I looked over at Jasper. His eyes were unblinking as still he stared at the children. I continued the gaze at him, and he was first to break the silence.
"What is that place? “He said incredulously, and then turned to stare back at me.
"Earth, “I clarified.
"So the stories are true? About the Humans? They exist?" He wondered.
I didn't reply. Jasper sighed impatiently.
"Well?"
I couldn't speak. Jasper's eyed me warily and laughed.
"Mistress?" He asked in confusion. He quickly caught onto what I was thinking and the tone of his voice changed
abruptly.
"Mistress, no! Are you out of your mind?" He demanded.
I looked up at him eagerly, my eyes pleading.
"I want to go there, Jasper," I whispered, "I want to see Earth!"
"Eve, let's go. Please," he pleaded.
"I take it you're not coming with me then?"
"What? No!" he said angrily.
"Jasper, your job is to protect me. You must come!"
He stared at me incredulously, and then abruptly he stood up, trying to haul me along with him. I refused to get up, and let my legs dangle dangerously over the edge of the rocky platform. I was at a great risk sitting there. Any false
movement and I could topple over the edge. To be honest, I didn't even care.
"Humans are savages, Mistress. They are a murderous bunch. They kill their own species. They fight in vast battlefields for land and oil with only power on their minds. Selfish creatures. I won’t allow it, Mistress, no I won't!"
I stared at him in amazement, for he had never used this tone of voice with me before. Never. A whole minute had passed by until I spoke.
"Then how does that make us any different, Jasper?" I asked, gazing at him calmly.
He stared back, speechless, then pulled at his golden brown hair in frustration, and growled, baring his milky white teeth. His eyes seemed to turn black and murderous, and I shivered as I felt them look right through me, right into my soul. I sat like a preyed bird locked in the eyes of a snake. I shivered. I couldn't move; his fists tightened.
He was so mad; I thought he would kill me.
He looked away, and I was glad to be freed of his unfriendly gaze. Instead, I looked back down at the boy and the girl,
seeing them lie on their backs, seeing them almost buried in the tall yellow grass. They stared up at the sky. I wondered if they could see us, like we could so clearly see them.
I was the first to break the uncomfortable silence. The suddenly changed atmosphere seemed to match Jasper's darkened mood.
"Do they look like murderers to you, Jasper?" I asked quietly.
Minutes passed by, though they seemed like hours. I waited for him to speak.
"No, “he murmured.
I looked over at him, and he took my hands. His eyes softened.
"To go down there would be insane, Eve. Suicide. You would fall down there in a blinding blaze of light, like a star
falling from the sky. You would set fire to their land. People would think it like God's gift; others would think you a weapon. An angel of mass destruction.
”And then when they lay eyes on you and see that you are the most beautiful woman on the entire planet, people will
either want to worship you, or kill you. So beautiful, so inhumanly, extraordinarily beautiful. War would break out. War and pandemonium and bloodshed. You would probably die. This is dangerous, Eve. A mad, mad idea. We should get home."
"But can't you hear it, Jasper?" I asked, laughing softly.
"Hear what? It doesn't matter, anyway. It's time to leave."
"But it's so obvious!" I said, smiling at him.
He let go of me and slumped his shoulders.
"That this is a mad idea? Yes, I can see that!"
"No, but just listen! Really, really listen. Do it!"
His brows pulled together in confusion, but he did as he was told. So we really, really listened. And then he heard it.
"Jasper, look!"
He glanced at me. But it wasn't me talking. It was her, the girl. Her voice was mine, like wind chimes and bells. Jasper looked back and forth between us, the confusion very evident on his bewildered face.
"And just look, just really, really look! It's so obvious!" I said in excitement.
His voice trailed off as soon as he realized that I was right. I was always right.
"It can't be..."
But it was. The boy was Jasper, the sun making his beautiful dark blonde hair look like it was on fire as it's brilliant light rays reflected off it. And the girl was me, her curly auburn hair waving gently down to her waist, spread out like a halo as she rested her head on the soft grass.
"Yes it can, Jasper, “I didn't bother trying to hide the triumphance in my voice.

I pulled back from the real Jasper and stared at him. What the hell was that?!
