Marked For Death: The Bloody Siren Chronicles

Episode 2: The Bloody Siren, Wanted Undead or Alive

Last Episode: Sukia Durahn, a.k.a. The Bloody Siren, and her older brother Kenta’s nomadic quest for glory and battle has led them to Brevehn Outpost and the Southern Kingdom, on Sukia’s 21st Birthday no less. Prince Rennik, a member of Southern Royalty attempts to woo Sukia with power and resourcefulness, but when he comes up “short” and gets ridiculed, he drunkenly attacks the Bloody Siren, and finds out the hard way that she is a Daywalker Vampire. Angered by Rennik’s murder, a group of angry Southern Demonslayers approach the Durahn Siblings with malicious intent….

Kenta looked at the approaching group of vengeful sword bearing warriors approaching. One of the warriors yelled out “Not so tough, now, huh,  you’ll all pay for what you did to the prince!!!” before charging at Kenta, but Kenta grabbed his axe with both hands, and leapt down the stairs, effortlessly cleaving the man in two. Not missing a beat, he swung and decapitated another warrior. The warriors decided that a full on charge would be more efficient and rushed the East Country’s champion, but Kenta decided to utilize the powers of his Axe of the Storm.

“Lend me your strength, O Mighty Blade, I need your righteous rain to help me win!” Kenta silently pleaded with his weapon, urging the air around the axe to become slightly distorted. He then swung the axe in the direction of the oncoming charge and shouted “Axe of the Storm Rain Strike Barrage!”

The axe, on command, began firing a strong torrent of water at the onslaught, knocking all of the warriors down or sending them flying back.

“Now for the kill, Axe of the Storm Lightning Strike!!!” Kenta once again shouted as he slammed the blade down sending a wave of lightning at the severely drenched warriors. The screams of the dying warriors filled the tavern for a few intense seconds, before all that was left was an extremely damaged room filled with smoking corpses.

Sukia, who had simply been watching from the background, stuck her lip out at Kenta, and began to pout.

“Damn, Kenny, you didn’t make it bloody. You fuckin’ fried all the blood up! Do you feel better now, Champ?”

“I apologize for kicking ass for the mess you got us into. Next time you piss an entire building full of people off, you’re on your own.”

“Sure I am, Big Guy, now where are those bottles you bought? Damn, they got broke. Well, shit, since nobody’s behind the bar let’s help ourselves and get out of here!”

Elsewhere

It had been about 8 Hours since Sukia killed Prince Rennik, and the royal messenger had teleported straight to the capital. Rushing into the King’s luxurious throne room at the palace in Memorr, the capital city of the Southern Kingdom

“King Surron, My Lord!!!!” the messenger said as he ran towards the throne before being grabbed and restrained by guards.

The King, a tall, pale man in a bejeweled robe, flanked by several attractive courtesans, pointed at the messenger and spoke in a very slow but deliberate voice, “Speak, messenger. I hope it is important, for I do not take kindly to anybody appearing before me unexpectedly.”

“My King, Your Son Rennik Has Been Killed in Brevehn Outpost by a Daywalker!!!!”

At this news everybody in the room went very silent. King Surron’s expression did not change, but his voice betrayed the shock and magnitude of the situation when he said, “A Daywalker, Vampire? What kind of foolishness is this?”

“Sir, I am being sincere. A woman, no less.  Her name is Sukia Durahn from what sources tell me. She’s the sister of Kenta Durahn, the Champion of the East Country Demonslayer Competition that was held in Derina City not very long ago. She is known as The Bloody Siren, and from what I know, she was a force to be reckoned with long before she became a vampire. Now she’s an nearly unstoppable force, not to mention she travels with her brother, the Champion, a great warrior himself.”

“What was her quarrel with my son?”

“I’m unsure what the quarrel was, but seeing as she is a vampire, I’m quite sure that she may just have wanted to feed off of someone, and the Prince was just the unfortunate chosen victim.”

“I see. Thank you for telling me this information, messenger. This transgression will not go unpunished. Scribes, take this down, I am about to make an order.”

The scribes all whipped out their quills and tablets, and messengers all listened intently as the King rose to his feet, showing off his full height. Surron was a very slender man, but easily stood at seven feet, and the multiple jewels embedded in his clothing made him shine, earning him the nickname of the “Shining King”.

“A sad day has descended upon the Southern Kingdom, as my son, the crown prince Rennik has been slain by an evil monsterous vampire, who will prey upon many other citizens of the South, and of lands in general. I, Surron, King of the Southern Kingdom and all of it’s territories, hereby order the death of the Daywalker, Sukia Durahn, the Bloody Siren. All acts of violence towards the Bloody Siren and anyone who assists her will be protected from prosecution. In addition to the order, I hereby place a bounty on her head for anyone to collect. The person who can bring proof of having slain the Bloody Siren, will receive a reward of no less than 500, 000, 000 Gold Pieces, and will have their bloodline recognized as Southern Kingdom Nobility. Let all the scribes add these words into history. May all the messengers go out to all the cities and all of the lands and announce my bounty! May the Bloody Siren and her allies die 1000 Deaths, and Burn in the Deepest of Hells!!!!”

As soon as the King finished talking, the dozens of messengers that were in the room suddenly teleported off to various locations across the Kingdom, all of them armed with the description of the Bloody Siren, as well as her brother that accompanied her.

“Now, Let’s See How You Fare Bloody Siren. I Will Spill The Blood That You Took From My Son…”

Somewhere outside of Brevehn Outpost…

“And he couldn’t even eat my pussy right!!!! I think the motherfucker mighta left a scar down there, I’m scared to check!!!!” Sukia drunkenly yelled.

The Durahn siblings had set up camp in the forest outside of Brevehn, anticipating a backlash from the murder of the prince, and they were drunkenly laughing and joking around a camp fire. Kenta grabbed two whole bottles of Southern Select Vodka, the Southern Kingdom’s finest liquor and opened them both.

“You dare me?” Kenta asked

“You can’t take both of them to the head, asshole! Put ‘em down and stop wasting drink!” Sukia replyed.

“Fuck you, I’m Going In!” Kenta yelled before tipping both the bottles back into his throat. The clear liquor pouring out of the two bottles seemed to form a clear stream of nearly pure alcohol pouring down his throat.  Sukia wordlessly watched, waiting for the slightest mistake, which came when nearly halfway through, Kenta choked a little. The Bloody Siren immediately pointed and laughed at her older brother, who merely shook it off and resumed drinking until both bottles were depleted, and tossed them into the fire.

“I hope you don’t throw up, Kenta.  You will neeeeveeer hear the end of it, I promise you. Kenta? You alright?” Sukia said, beginning to joke but becoming unsure when Kenta had no witty comeback. Kenta simply just stood there with glazed over eyes.

“Kenta? Bro?” Sukia said, walking over to Kenta, “Say something! Oh God, please don’t let him be alcohol poisoned! We’re not exactly able to just walk into a healer’s office.”

Kenta still said nothing. Sukia took her brother’s arm in her arms and opened her mouth, preparing to use her vampiric feeding ability to suck some of the poisoned blood out just when Kenta suddenly reached up and grabbed both of her fangs and smiled at her.

“Damn, waiting on any excuse to get to blood, eh? I Got ya good, huh, sis….sis?” Kenta said, noticing the not happy look on Sukia’s face, who was genuinely concerned about Kenta’s health.

Sukia’s red eyes glowed bright red before she grabbed her older brother by the collar (who happens to be more than twice Sukia’s body weight), and lifting him up in the air. Kenta was now truly in a bad situation as he looked down and saw Sukia’s fangs and claws extending, and her hair growing long. The champion tried to kick and struggle out of his severely pissed off sister’s grasp, but she used her telekinetic powers to hold him tightly in place. The only thing Kenta could move was his eyes.

“The Next time you decide to scare me like that…..” Sukia said in a sinister voice that seemed to echo, “I’ll really kill you, and get drunk off of your boozed up blood until I throw up on your shredded carcass, GOT IT!!!!!”

Sukia then released her brother without waiting for a response, and returned to her normal state. Kenta sat on the ground, slightly overwhelmed at the sheer power that Sukia’s vampire abilities granted her. Kenta decided that his best bet for the night was not to touch anymore liquor, lest he play another drunken joke on his sister that could get him killed. Sukia, however, returned to drinking bottle after bottle of the liquor like it all never happened.

Not long afterwards, Kenta had slipped off to sleep, while Sukia was still drinking and reflecting on her life so far, and the start of their now 5 Year Long to the very day Wandering……..

“Happy 16th Birthday Sukia!!!!!!” everyone yelled. The small village of Derina Falls, just 3 days north of Derina City, the East Country’s capital, was the home of the Durahn family. Just Tsukiko Durahn, her nearly 21 Year Old Son Kenta, and her daughter, the now 16 Year Old Sukia. The younger Sukia, was dressed in a long skirt and a thick sweater.

“Yeah, sis, for your birthday, I got a bottle for ya at my place down the street!” Kenta said, nudging

“Kenta!” Tsukiko snapped, “You’ve already got Sukia running around and fighting like she’s a boy, I will not stand for you letting her drink like one as well!”

“Mom, you know why I got Sukia fighting, just in case Dad’s twisted ass comes back, and we’re not around she’ll be able to protect herself!”

“If you’re not around” Sukia said indignantly, “Kenta, I’m just as tough as you are, if not tougher.”

“I’ll pretend like you didn’t say that, little girl!”

“You know it, Kenny! Remember that time I had you on the ground and you were beg-“

“Dammit, we can go outside right now and air it out, you little…”

“ENOUGH!” Tsukiko yelled, “Sukia, stop aggravating your brother! Kenta, stop trying to kill your sister! We’re gonna eat dinner like a regular family, and celebrate Sukia’s birthday. Kenta, your birthday is next month, what would you like to do?”

Before Kenta could open his mouth, a loud banging sound came from the door. The family looked up. Tsukiko mouthed the words, “He’s Here” as Kenta leapt in front of the women and grabbed his axe, preparing for the intruder…..

Back in the present….

A movement in the bushes snapped Sukia out of her unpleasant trip down memory lane. Sukia’s hands instinctively went to her knives as she leapt up.

“Whoever you are, come out of the bushes, lest I go in!” she called out.

A man wielding a chain mace stepped from the bushes

“My name is Bronson The Devil’s Mace, and I’m here to collect your head for the bounty, Bloody Siren. Are you prepared to die?”

Next Episode: Kenta’s Declaration of War!!!!!(Sukia faces off against Bronson The Devil Mace, who is but the first of many Bounty Hunters Out for the Enormous Price on Sukia’s head, and Kenta decides that instead of running away from the Southern forces, that the best defense is an offensive: An all out suicidal charge towards the Capital City to Kill the King and Cancel the Bounty on Sukia’s Life!!!)
