It's dark and cold and snowy. Add to the fact Wanda Cummings was out of gas and stranded.
285 Words

"I'm moving to Hawaii so I never have to see snow again!" So thought Wanda Cummings as she sat on a cold Minnesota back-road. Out of gas, (her own stupid fault) out of heat and seemingly out of luck, she thought of how they really didn't need a DVD to watch tonight. No more that a few hours ago it was her grand idea to stay in tonight and she would fix popcorn and hot cocoa. Then her daughter and herself could snuggle and watch a movie on DVD while the storm howled outside. The storm was predicted to come sometime after dark so Wanda thought she had plenty of time to go into town, pick up a couple of items and then drop by "Nite Tyme Vids" to get the DVD.

While she was looking for "Transformers," the weather transformed on her. She walked in and within 15 minutes there was a full blown snow storm under way. Wanda finally found the movie and hurried to the checkout, where pimply faced Joe Shumaker was the clerk.

"Uh,,Miss. Cummings. Are you going to be all right driving home in this?" Joe was at least thoughtful.

"Yeah, Joey, thanks. I'll be all right." I hope, she added to herself.

Now she wasn't all right. She was cold, she was scared because it was dark and the snow was getting heavier. She knew she wasn't far from home but was afraid to chance walking in this storm. Why, she would probably freeze to death. Then, she saw a flicker. A flicker that turned into four wheeler headlights. A four wheeler that had her daughter Sammy-Joe on it, looking for her. Bless her heart! "Hot cocoa, here we come."
