A nightmare...a reality...a scarlet lily.
In the darkened night, your gaze an ethereal glow

Wakened from my fantasy, it’s you who startled me back to this weak reality

Body frozen, what spell have you cast?

Scars, anger, and hate shadow your face,

Fear heightens, making my breath quicken

You stalk closer, denial frozen on my lips,

Yet my psyche screaming, pleading refusal

The symbols upon your flesh come alive, devouring my terror

Sinister, your smile creates the chill dancing my spine,

Destroys the hope I once had

You want to mark me as yours, take what I won’t give

To possess my body, my spirit, to stain the innocence I’ve tried to protect,

With malevolent desire

You came before, a disparate form, from the darkness that I naively ignored

Invading my dreams, a nightmare I couldn’t control

You took, I gave; I forgot

Now you crave more, but I won’t provide again

My shrieks shatter resonance you fade, your fury evident

Your return is definite

I awaken, my limbs shake

You were just a dream, a horror of the night

Shuddering, breathing deeply with relief,

Something caresses my arm,

The memento that gives you truth,

A lily, its scarlet blush like blood splashed upon my bed.
