Inadequate


I watch your face, shrouded tonight
And wipe the tear you cry tonight

I brought this subject to light
And I will not let it lie tonight

I wonder if I denied you
If opportunity passed you by tonight

Would she be better for you?
Should we even try tonight?

I cling to your skin wearily
For fear that we may die tonight

You turn to me and say ‘Emma’
The truth hurts more than a lie tonight.
