A short poem that may not be all that good, about love, regret, and heartbreaks.
If love could build a stairway,
And tears could form a lane,
I’d walk to you the entire way,
To ask you back again.

I’m sorry that I hurt you,
I never meant you pain,
I hate to see your tears come down,
It fills my soul with shame.

You’ve always been my hero,
You’ve kept my heart a-beat,
You lifted me from the ground,
And put me on my feet.

I guess I was too busy,
To notice all your signs,
You wanted me to see,
The heavenly light that you shine.

I’m sorry that I hurt you,
I never meant you pain,
I hate to see your tears come down,
It fills my heart with shame.

If love could build a stairway,
If tears could form a lane,
I’d drop down on my knees,
And beg you back again.

I promise to keep my promises,
To see the light you shine,
I promise to protect you;
Every single time.

Never again will I hurt you,
No more tears will come down,

For you, I’d climb a mountain,
For you, I’d swim the sea,
For you, nothing is too good,
For you, nothing is out of reach,

Now please tell me you will come back;
You’ll give me one more try,
If you can’t, then let me tell you I love you;
At least one last time.

If love could build a stairway,
If tears could form a lane,
I’d walk back from where I came,
And never bother you again.
