Losing someone and not having the opportunity to say your intentional last words.
Sound asleep laid an earnest and quiet but yet vigilant cry
For the remaining time left just isn't enough to say goodbye
To the ones that were loved and even those who you would defy
As if life itself prevented this day from passing by

Though your body intact and your head on straight
Your mind eventually recognizing this mirror image called fate
Where there's no corner to turn or place to hide
There death hovers closing in on every side

Breathing is scarce, blood flow is weak
Your brain is now losing oxygen right as you speak
Of the very many things that you once said
Involving memories that one can no longer dread

Now that the moment has come, to where you have become
That thought in ones head, a memory which will always be said
Of the date that was set, which one will try not to fret
The loss of a friend, who survived to the end

So as long as we live, surely you won't die
Due to every tear that drips out of ones eye
Pours out a special memory that one cannot lie
That will always make it impossible to say goodbye
