The creator of this Interactive Story provides this information and guidance:
The Illithid (a.k.a. Mindflayers) capture those who stray too close to their underground lair. Some captives are slaves, the rest are feeders, their brains devoured by the terrible squid-like humanoids. The city is alive with cables and moving gears, like some giant machine. But what does it do? And can you escape?

This is a 2nd person narrative in the Dungeons & Dragons setting. No die rolls or game mechanics, only story telling.
