A poem written with a few of my opinions on love.
I stand far, by choice
Though not by my own
You know, it's said when you find love
You've found your other half
You're one
If so, I must be mistaken
Every time I've said "I love you"
If so, I must have mistaken
This feeling
To say I feel "one" with you, would be a lie
It may be the easier, yet misguiding, explanation to those unknowing minds
Those minds unknowing of the meshing
Strings of attraction, ideals, odd ends that "shouldn't" fit together and more
Winding together to extend our reaches
Those minds unknowing to the simplest sign
The feeling of right
And the flow, that streams in one's various muscles and guts along with it
I may stand far, torn
But I am not torn from you
Nor, you from me
Our net remains solid
Perhaps to display it's new length
I am counting the days down
Days that stretch between us
Days that weather nets when they outnumber knots and strings
Days that are slowly becoming fewer, much faster then I planned or expected
Days that, when over, are partially tossed aside, parts torn and pocketed
Days that will come to an end and bring two sides back together
Days that won't cause any damage we can't work out by just being us
By meshing
Our strings of attraction, ideals, odd ends that "shouldn't" fit together
Simply feeling right
