War memorial scene with white crosses on green grass make an indelible impression
Blood red blooms bowed in respect,
eternal spirits on zephyrs borne.
Trees and shrubs camouflage the earth
where souls from bodies were torn.
Verdant fields of small white crosses,
marble walls battle  scarred by names.
Each memorial a beacon for unsung heroes
sacrificed in political games.
Ageless children of all generations
evoke tears of memories and regret,
at the price paid for freedom of speech
for those who should never forget.
