A different spin on we mortals.
I stand in unjudging twilight
Straddling the razor line
Between eternal light shining with hope
And endless night filled with fell dreams.
I walk along the line looking to either side
Watching those who made their choices.
I refuse to make a choice myself for I know
An eternal damned truth about humanity.

Angels in their divine glory
Will forever be filled with Heaven's light.
Demons in their defiled might
Will always be filled with Hell's fury.
Alas, we poor humans,
Plagued by the vile demons,
Guided by the blessed angels,
Are Holier and more Profane than either
For while they were created good or evil
We are what we choose to be.

Free will, that cursed blessing
Makes me pity man more
Than all the Demons
And fills me with more hope
Than all the Angels.
For while they have no choice in what they will become
We always will.
