An old man's savior in the oddest of places.
Back to back for a moment they stood
And for a moment in the night
Two hearts thrummed as one
Consumating a shared emotion.

Both lovers turned their heads
Looking their better half in the eye
Entrhalled by a hidden siren's call
Enarmored against the banshees cry.

In that moment both stood imortal
No harm could come to them
In a crowded room they stood alone
Sharing unspoken words of love.

And then the moment passed
For in the end they always do
Both spun away laughing
Not a care in the world.

I watched as i cried over my drink
Remembering days and moments past
Thinking back to the angel in my life
And all the happiness now lost to me.

Lost in memory I never noticed her
Until she stopped and whispered in my ear
"Would she be happy with your right now
Drinking yourself to death this way?"

She never waited for my reply
Not that there could be one.
Her words sank into my heart
And struck at my very core.

I never went back again after that night
Though now and then my thoughts return
Back to that little bar where a stranger
Reached out and healed an old man's heart

I still drink now and again
Crying tears of happiness in my water
Telling stories where everyone can hear
Of the second angel to ever speak to me.
