A poem which describes things which all people go through in their minds.
I seek to find the straightest path possible.
I yearn to find the one day where simple is allowed.
My every waking moment is spent trying to discover things
That I believe will never be fully discovered.
Who am I?
What am I meant to do?
What is the sense and the purpose in doing what I do?
I've chosen a path where simple is forbidden.
I've set into motion events which put my goals and desires into pure chaos.
And for what?
What is going to benefit me throughout all this?
I've spent my entire life trying to be as selfless as I can but
I have reached my moments where I want to be selfish.
I cherish the friends I've made and want to hold them close.
I yearn to make new friends to converse with and experience
More happiness by the spending of time with them.
But then bad things happen.
Obstacles stand in the way of seeing said friends.
Barriers are placed in the way of the many good things
I wish for others and for myself.
Meant for me to give up and submit to
Discouragement.
My resolve is strong, but I can't help but believe
That I will give in to this temptation.
I choose to fight through this maze of complexity but sometimes
I seek to find the straightest path possible.
