Spreading her wings, ready to fly.
Spreading her wings, ready to fly.
She does not turn to face you
She knows you are going to hold her back.
You cannot keep her spirit captive.
Loving a free soul, the hardest kind of love.
She will give you all of her devotion,
Then, without warning, take flight into the night.
Letting go of her, no one wants to do.
She is the flame to your candle,
The angel in your hopes and dreams.
What attracts you to her?
This spirit that will never be yours.
Ready to run, she takes flight.
Never will another take her place.
Never will your angel return.
