About U.S.

We cry for pelicans, the
birds in the gulf, muck
pudding in the gulf, the
worlds disappearing,
containment nonexistent, the
spilling of grief and graft, human legs
stuck out of sand, the
death of "life is a beach."

Then we drive away.
