thoughts on memories we'd rather forget
hankering to forget
but memories that suffocate endure
perpetually tormenting, torturing the soul
happiness surrounding, yet never enveloping
violence hollowing the centre
innocence discarded
leaving me restless, empty
the iron clad shield I've placed afore me
crumbles reluctantly
Answers now able to relinquish
the need for you to hear
yet more barriers are forming
leaving me restless, empty
hankering to forget
